Parents contribute to the success of the school by voluntary
activities:
LOCHARDIL SCHOOL PARENT COUNCIL and FORUM
Parents have agreed to combine the function of a P.T.A. along with a structure of the Parent Council. The prime purpose to provide added value to the working of the school. The Council organises fund-raising and social events for the school and the pupils. The purpose of the Parent Council is also to establish close links between schools and parents i.e. by:
The names and
telephone numbers of Parent Council members are included in the information
circulated through Council newsletters. Meetings are open to the public, and dates, times and
agenda of meetings are sent home in the schoolbag mail. Correspondence
should be sent to the Clerk of the Parent Council c/o Lochardil Primary
School.
The
Highland Council allocates an allowance to the school for everyday expenditure
on books, jotters, stationary and supplies. The School Fund helps to meet the
cost of additional expenses and equipment that normally cannot be met by the
local authority's funding.
Most income for School Funds comes indirectly from parents. The main sources are, photograph sales, and parental contributions for extra-curricular visits and events. Parents are also asked for a voluntary contribution of £5 per family to School Fund at the beginning of the session.
School
Funds cover the cost of many items e.g.
School Funds are
audited annually and copies submitted to the Education Finance
Department.
